2025 Qgroup Scholarship Award goes to FoodSpai

Since 2014, Qgroup has awarded the Qgroup Scholarship to selected students. Recipients are graduates of the Master’s Program in Entrepreneurship & Innovation at Lund University.

The 2025 Qgroup Scholarship is awarded to FoodSpai (Irina Martin, Justus Willebrand, Mei-Yu Chen, and Yaroslav Chekh) for the following reasons:

This year’s Qgroup Award goes to a team that has combined academic excellence with a strong entrepreneurial mindset. From the very beginning, they have demonstrated a clear ‘do stuff’ attitude—showing initiative, curiosity, and resilience throughout the program.

FoodSpai was formed early in the academic year, and the team has continuously iterated on their idea, tested assumptions, and refined their value proposition. Their solution addresses a surprisingly overlooked aspect of everyday life—our refrigerators.

With a smart recombination of existing technologies, they’ve developed an AI-powered tool paired with a retrofitted in-fridge camera. This allows users to manage their fridge inventory effortlessly, extending the functionality of any standard refrigerator—no need to buy a brand-new smart fridge.
